BTCC 3rd XI vs Stokenteignhead

On Sunday, the 3rd XI travelled to Stokeinteignhead. Bovey had a noticeably young side. Their performance was great under the watchful eye of new captain Joseph Forey. Stoke put Bovey into bat in this 40 over a side match.

The Captain opened the innings with Oliver Curran, after accumulating 34 Curran was dismissed for 9. Sam Harvey joined Forey, and they took the score to 83 before Harvey was dismissed for 11. Joseph Forey then declared his innings on 51 not out having had 5 fours. Sam Russell also declared his innings on 50 not out with one six and 7 fours. Not long after Ryan Jones also declared his innings on 50 not out with 4 fours. Harry Pitman joined in and added a knock of 16. Not long after the Bovey Captain declared the Bovey innings having secured 259 for 7 wickets off 37.2 overs. Jamie Clinkett secured 3 for 47 off 7 overs for Stoke.

Stokenteignhead opened their innings with Tom Wills scoring 30 before Harry Pitman dismissed him LBW. Clinkett was joined by Michael Lang. Clinkett was dismissed for 16 LBW to jack Ansley with the score on 81. Michael Lang went on to reach 84 not out. The rest of the Stoke batters scored hardly any runs except Alfie Payne and Euan Trower both scoring 20. Finally, Stokenteignhead were all out for194 off 37.1 overs. The Bovey bowlers had performed well with Jack Ansley 4 for 13, Joseph Forey picking up 3 for 21 and the remaining bowlers Harry pitman, Shawna Ball and Jake Forey one wicket each.

A particularly good start to the 3rd XI season.
